Gunpla painting with toothpick and toilet paper

Have you ever wanted to paint your Mobile Suit Ensemble Gunpla but haven't got the needed confidence or experience to paint on super fine details on the small pieces? It is actually much easier than you thought. You don't need special professional tools. You can achieve great success by just using general household items like toothpicks and toilet paper. The video below shows how it can be done.

Tips:

• Don't use toothpicks like a paintbrush. Toothpicks can hold only a small bit of paint (which is also an advantage) so don't expect to paint everything in one go.
• Excess paint can be easily rubbed off using the side or the other end of a toothpick quickly. You can also dip a toothpick with some rubbing alcohol to remove paint.
• Use a knife or cutter to sharpen your toothpick for ultra fine details.
• You can use toilet paper to perform dry brushing. Make sure there is only a minimal amount of paint on the toilet paper. Shape it in a way so you don't accidentally paint on unwanted places.
• Any acrylic paint would work. I often try out different markers my kids got from stationary shops, and some of them produce very good finishes. They are easy to be removed after painted - just use rubbing alcohol and you can start from scratch again.
